Our summer 2024 camp season is beginning Monday June 24th. We are looking forward to welcoming all our new campers at Camp Ohr Menachem (COM). We have been working tirelessly to create a summer program full of fun, excitement, and COM spirit that you all know and love, which still allows for a safe and healthy summer camp experience

Camp hours are from 9:00 AM-3:30 PM.

Early care will be from 8:00 AM-9:00 AM everyday.

After care will be from 3:30 PM-5:00 PM Monday to Thursday.

Please do not bring your child earlier than 8:45 AM (unless you registered for early care) to ensure proper supervision.

Boys - Talmud Torah located at 4850 Ave Saint-Kevin, Montreal, Quebec H3W 1P2.

Girls - Chabad 6501 Kildare

Trips, swimming, and sports will be elsewhere for all campers.

Drop Off:

Boys - The boys can come to Chabad 6501 Kildare at 8:45 AM and a bus will take them to their location. The bus will leave at 9:00 AM sharp. If they missed the bus, they can be dropped off directly at 9:00 AM at Talmud Torah. We encourage that all boys will be dropped at Chabad at 8:45 AM. On trip days, boys will be leaving directly from Chabad, so it’s important to arrive at 8:45 AM sharp.

Girls - The girls should be dropped off in front of Chabad 6501 Kildare.

A staff member will be outside from 8:45 - 9:00 AM to greet your child and escort him/her to his/her bunk.

Late drop off (for boys and girls): If you are bringing your child after 9:00 AM, call the on site director to make sure that your child will be signed in. DO NOT leave until a staff member has signed your child in. To avoid any hassle and to make sure your child gets the most out of their camp day, PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME!

Afternoon Dismissal:

AT 3:30 PM boys and girls at Chabad. Please park your car and come out to sign out and pick up your child.

Dismissal will be from 3:30 PM-3:40 PM. Please respect the timing. After care is available latest by 5 PM, however pre-registration online is required.

There are a number of different ways in which camp communicates with parents:

For pictures and news, please follow Camp Ohr Menachem on Facebook, campohrmenachem on Instagram or check Rabbi Tzemach’s Whatsapp status.

Weekly email updates: Parents will receive a highlight report in advance of each week

which will list the main activities of each day and the clothing and/or supplies children will need to wear/bring.

Whatsapp broadcast list: Camp will send updates and reminders via WhatsApp.  More details to follow regarding the WhatsApp broadcast lists.

SAFETY: Safety is a primary focus at Camp Ohr Menachem.

Staffing: All our counselors are experienced camp counselors. Each group will be supervised by at least two counselors throughout the day. Our staff has attended extensive pre camp counselor first aid training.

Safety Tags: Each counsellor wears a tag with each child’s important information including contact numbers, allergies and special needs. In case of an emergency, parents or emergency contacts will be contacted immediately.

Welcome Package:

The campers will be receiving a camp T-shirt, a cap, and a water bottle in the welcome package on the first day of camp. Please make sure your child brings their water bottle and cap everyday and their camp T-shirt for outings.

Camp T-shirts: All children must wear camp T-shirts on outings so that our campers are easy to identify. Camp T-shirts will be distributed on the first day of camp. Additional T-shirts can be purchased for 15$ at the camp office.

Lunch Menu:

There will be a hot lunch with two snacks served daily. More details to follow regarding the lunch schedule. NOTE: WE ARE A COMPLETELY NUT-FREE CAMP. Please do NOT send your child with any nuts or any food containing nuts. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD EATS A HEALTHY BREAKFAST BEFORE COMING TO CAMP AND SEND WATER DAILY.

What to Bring:

Every child should bring a sun hat, water, sunscreen and of course, a lot of great spirit! In order to encourage the practice of giving charity, we also urge parents to send a coin for Tzedakah with their child every day. On swimming days, your child must bring a bathing suit, a towel, and a bathing cap. Teen & CIT boys additionally need Tallit and tefillin (morning prayers will be said in camp).

Swimming will be under the supervision of certified lifeguards. In addition to the certified lifeguards on duty, our staff are well briefed on supervision and safety procedures.

As an added safety measure, we ask that if your child will be missing a day of camp, please  email us at [email protected] in the morning.

  Lice Policy:

In the event that a child is found to have head lice, he/she will be sent home during the camp day for proper treatment. The child will be allowed to return to camp ONLY when he/she has been certified as “nit/lice free.”

Our camp has ZERO TOLERANCE for bullying, fighting, foul language, disrespect towards other campers, etc. If we notice this type of attitude, serious measures will have to be taken. Camp is supposed to be a warm and happy place for all our campers and we do not accept any disrespectful behavior.

CAMPERS MAY NOT BRING ELECTRONICS INTO CAMP AT ANY TIME. We will not allow any type of electronic device such as, smartphones, iPods, iPads, computers, tablets, mp3 players, earbuds, cameras, etc. If a camper has brought a device, we will confiscate it and give it to the parents at the end of the week.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: money, games, electronics or other valuable items may not be brought with your child to camp. We cannot take responsibility for lost or stolen items.
